The overarching purpose of MDCL is to further develop the Microfinance sector through  financial inter-mediation & capacity building

In its function as a financial intermediary, MDCL will transform risk perceptions, denominations and maturities, as well as offer adequately packaged financial resources to partner MfBs, which must be potentially sustainable.

For capacity building, MDCL will engage in institutional building of the MfBs, development of market infrastructure, monitoring and supervision of MfBs.
