Mr. Rogers Augustine Nwoke was born on August 25th 1968 in Owerri, Imo State.

Mr. Nwoke is a seasoned Accountant and Banker with over 25 years’ experience in the financial services industry covering investment, consumer banking, retail banking, and commercial banking.

He is the founding Managing Director/CEO of HASAL Microfinance bank Limited, a State-licensed Microfinance bank established in 2008 with capital base in excess of N2b and operating out of 18 locations within the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).


 Mr. Rogers Nwoke holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from University of Nigeria, and an MBA from Warwick Business School, University of Warwick England where his research interest focused on microfinance models and entrepreneurship development.

 


He is a Fellow (FCA) of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), Honorary Senior Member (HCIB) and Certified Microfinance Banker (MCIB) of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN). He is also a Fellow of Institute of Credit Administration(FICA), and Fellow Institute of Management Consultants (FIMC). Mr. Nwoke is an International Certified Microfinance Expert (iCME) and International Certified SME Finance Expert (iCSME) from the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management, Germany. He is also an Alumnus of the Havard Business School Accion Program on Strategic Leadership in Microfinance.

 


Mr. Nwoke’s wealth of hands-on experience in microfinance have had profound effect on the continuous growth and success of HASAL Microfinance Bank, a bank he left commercial banking in 2008 to set up. HASAL is a thriving financial services institution that promotes financial inclusion, supporting Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) with financial services that promote enterprise development and growth. The bank currently serves over 160,000 MSMEs with a team of over 250 employees. Rogers took the bank through achievement of full financial self-sufficiency within the first year of operation as well as a steady growth in capital, business and customer base. He has been leading the bank in the last 10 years.Due to his wealth of experience and success in microfinance practice, as well as strong ties with microfinance and development institutions around the globe, Mr. Nwoke was elected the National President of the National Association of Microfinance Banks (NAMB) – the apex institutions housing all registered microfinance banks in Nigeria.

Obinna Onunkwo

Obinna Onunkwo is a seasoned securities specialist with over 15 years of experience in investment management. He has a rich background in investment banking, asset management, equities research and trading and has over the years played active roles as lead fund manager in corporate actions. He began his career as a pioneer member of the Guardian Express Bank Plc. Team. He thereafter proceeded to Spring Capital Markets Limited where he was the pioneer Head of the Asset Management Unit.

 


Obinna has an Executive MBA from Lagos Business School and a degree in Economics from the University of Port Harcourt. As a Founding director and managing director of Alternative Capital Partners Limited (ACAP), Obinna drove the operational success of the business, facilitating the first ever acquisition and merger of two mutual funds from a bank. Obinna also sits on the Board of Law Union and Rock Insurance Plc. and serves as the Chairman of its Enterprise and Risk Management Committee.

Currently, He serves as Founding Managing Partner and Director at Purple Capital Partners Limited. He has driven the company’s growth in the private equity, financial services and real estate sectors, resulting in the initiation of “purplemoney”, a CBN Licensed retail lending microfinance institution which he spearheads, as well as the development and finance of the Maryland Mall, a Commercial Retail Development and Redworth Terraces in Lekki, a Residential Development. Obinna is a member of the Institute of Directors.

Dr Daniel Sunday Ogun

Dr Dan Ogun holds his first, second and third degrees in Law and was called to the Nigeria Bar in 1985. Since then, he has held many strategic appointments and positions, including the following:

Dr Daniel Ogun:

Is a fellow of Association of Enterprise Risk Management Professional (AERMP);

Is a fellow of The Chartered Institute of Administration (CIA);

Is a Certified Microfinance Practitioner and a Pastor-in-Charge of Province (PICP) in The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG).

Dr Dan Ogun is also an active player in the political ecosystem, a few areas of activities are:

  • Member and Legal Adviser, Alhaji Yahaya Bello Transition Committee, Kogi State, and also Chairman, Transition Committee Report- Writing Sub Committee;

Winifred Oche

Mrs. Winifred Oche is the Managing Director of Grants MFB located in Fct Abuja with two branches. Mrs. Oche has over 15years banking experience. She has worked in First Bank of Nigeria both internationally and in Nigeria. She was on the project team that resulted in the inauguration of First Bank Subsidiaries in various African countries such as Gambia, Serria-leone, Senegal, Guinea and DRC.

While in Nigeria, she worked in various departments of First Bank such as Corporate Transformation where she was responsible for translating First Bank strategic objectives into attainable goals through the creation of the product of service that would make it possible. She also worked in the internal control Department where she was responsible for ensuring that branches were complying with set standards. She has also worked in mainstream banking such as Banking operations, customer service, treasury operations and retail marketing.

Her professional qualifications include that from Chartered Institute of Bankers and prince 2 (project MANAGER). She holds a Master Degree in Business Administration, an Msc accounting (in view) and a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.

Adegbami, Adegoke Elijah

Mr. Adegbami is a Fellow of the

He holds MBA in Financial Management from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomosho, is an alumnus of Boulder Institute of Microfinance, Turin, Italy and School of African Microfinance, Mombasa, Kenya.



He is an alumnus of Harvard Business School, Executive Education Program and Lagos Business School (Pan Atlantic University) Senior Management Program and has attended Risk Management Program of Boulder Institute of Microfinance, Washington DC, USA. He is a Fellow of the Africa Board Fellowship Program in Governance Organized by Center for Financial Inclusion-CFI, Washington DC. A thorough banker with in-depth knowledge and experience in Corporate Governance, Financial Management, Performance Management, Internal Audit and Compliance, Financial Reporting and Management Accounting, Risk Management, Business Development and Strategy, Organizational Transformation and Digital Transformation.



Before the formal introduction of Microfinance Banking in Nigeria, he has worked as a Management Consultant to different organizations including Banks. At the introduction of Microfinance Policy by the Central Bank of Nigeria in 2005, he worked as a Consultant in the conversion of a number of Community Banks to Microfinance Banks especially in the Eastern parts of the Country. Thereafter, he joined Amaifeke Microfinance Bank Limited as the Head of Internal Control and Audit Department from where he moved to Mainstreet Microfinance Bank Limited in 2009 as the pioneer Head of Internal Control and Audit. He rose to the post of an Assistant General Manager-AGM and Chief Finance Officer of the Bank. Based on performance, he rose to become the MD/CEO.

In addition to his attendance of many local and international microfinance trainings, including Daystar Leadership Academy, Adegoke has undertaken study tours of successful microfinance institutions in West and East Africa. He sits on Boards of companies in the financial services, agriculture, trading and real estate sectors. He is a prolific writer and author and a sought after speaker and couch on subjects of Business, Management, Career, Personal Development, Entrepreneurship, Financial Empowerment and Leadership. He is a 2016 winner of "African Prize for Leadership Excellence". He won “Best Microfinance CEO” of the Year 2019 organized by International Centre for Strategic Alliances. Adegoke was recently recognised by the National Association of Microfinance Banks, Lagos Chapter with an “Award of Excellence”.

Ogunleye Adebimpe Esther

Adebimpe Esther Ogunleye has been the Managing Director of Bowen Bank Limited since 2011.


A Certified Microfinance Expert of Frankfurt School of Finance and Management, Germany and a Certified Microfinance Practitioner (MCIB) of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN), she holds a Master’s degree in Marketing from the University of Lagos, Akoka. She also holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.



She started her banking career 30 years ago and her banking experience spans both commercial and microfinance banking giving her a wide range of banking experience from Credit appraisal, monitoring, audit & management of loans at the rural, retail and corporate banking levels. She was opportune to work in partnership with Community Banks within her years of experience that included working in commercial banks and with the regulatory authorities. She has a wide and deep experience in Asset Management and in the Receivership & Liquidation departments of Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation for some years. Adebimpe Ogunleye has also been opportune to manage various Special-purpose financial windows like NERFUND, NEXIM, BOI and CBN’s MSME. She is well exposed to marketing techniques and management of micro financial services. She has also been a Consultant with RBS Consulting, Nigeria where she handled various projects.

Adebimpe Esther Ogunleye is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Loans and Risk Management of Nigeria and a Fellow of the Microfinance Association of UK.



She is married and has two sons.

Godwin Ehigiamusoe

Godwin Ehigiamusoe is the Managing Director of LAPO Microfinance Bank. As a university graduate from one of Nigeria’s minority tribes, Godwin was part of a rural cooperative movement before setting up LAPO in Ogwashi–Uku, Nigeria in the Delta State of Nigeria. Under his leadership, LAPO was awarded the Pro-Poor Award for Innovation in Microfinance by the Consultative Group to Assist the Poor (CGAP), and the Excellence in Microfinance Award by the Grameen Foundation. Godwin is the author of Understanding NGOs (1998); Poverty and Microfinance in Nigeria (2000) and Issues in Microfinance:



Enhancing Financial Inclusion (2011).

An internationally acknowledged microfinance practitioner and a social entrepreneur with vast business interests. He has a Doctorate degree in Policy and Development Studies with emphasis on microfinance policy and regulatory frameworks. He founded LAPO as an NGO and has since midwifed the organization into a leading microfinance institution with operations in Nigeria and Sierra Leone.

Shikir Nuhu Caleb

Mr Shikir N. Caleb is a versatile professional, qualified Accountant and Certified Microfinance Banker with sufficient working experience in the areas of Accounting, Financial Management, Corporate Governance and Microfinance management.



He has worked at various managerial level both in the Public and Private sectors of the Nigeria economy with specialty at the Microfinance subsector for over 15 years. He has both local and international experience of Microfinance Business.

In the course of his work, Mr Shikir Nuhu Caleb acquired practical experience in the areas of fund management and human capital development.



He is a holder of Master of Science Degree in Business Administration from Nasarawa State University, Keffi. He obtained his HND in Accountancy and professional training in Accounting from the famous Nigeria College of Accountancy, Jos.

Currently, Shikir Nuhu Caleb is the Executive Secretary/Chief Executive Officer of the National Association of Microfinance Banks that coordinate the activities of the Microfinance Banks in Nigeria.

Chief Leonard Ikeotuonye Okoye is a revered Industrialist, Philanthropist, Sports promoter and National Award recipient. He is a serial businessman and entrepreneur with interests spanning diverse industries like Imports and exports, Engineering and construction, Estate development and Microfinance Banking to name a few.

His business empire offers employment to over 300 Nigerians and 10 expatriates. He has served in capacities as Chairman Board of Directors, in Premier Breweries Limited, Metallurgical Complex Limited, Universal Insurance Company in the past and presently serves as Chairman Board of Directors Chibueze Microfinance Bank Aba and board member Star Brokers Limited.

Biodun Adedipe

Dr. ‘Biodun Adedipe is the founder and Chief Consultant of B. Adedipe Associates Limited (BAA Consult). With almost four decades of post-graduate experience that cuts across university teaching, investment banking, project finance, management and financial consulting as well as leadership in business and not-for-profit organizations. ‘Biodun has had an illustrious career that has taken him through the University of Lagos, Enterprise Consulting Group, the World Bank (Africa Region), International Merchant Bank Plc, and First City Monument Bank Plc.

‘Biodun’s technical expertise is wide ranging, covering corporate strategy, research and economic analysis, solving complex business problems and assisting clients to execute business solutions in line with their corporate strategies.

He is a highly sought-after analyst and commentator on Government fiscal operations and economic policies, and strategy design and execution for financial institutions, non-financial business organizations and not-for-profit organizations.

He has served in various capacities in government, including Member of the Presidential Committee of Experts on the Redenomination of Naira (November 2008), Member of the Federal Government Committee of Experts on Expenditure Review (October 2010 to March 2011) and Senior Special Assistant to the President (Financial Sector Development) in the Office of the Chief Economic Adviser (2011).


He received his Doctorate degree in Industrial Economics (specializing in Corporate Finance) from the University of Lagos in 1989 and B.Sc. in Economics (First Class) from the University of Ife (now, Obafemi Awolowo University, OAU) in 1980, and bagged several awards in the process, including Sir Adam Thomson scholarship as visiting doctoral student to the University of Sussex, UK (1984). He is a member of several respected professional bodies, including the Institute of Directors, Nigeria, The Nigeria Economic Society, Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria and American Economic Association.

‘Biodun founded BAA Consult in February 1993, and he has been responsible for charting and managing the firm’s strategy and activities since operations commenced in 1994. He was ordained as a pastor in August 1997, happily serving God in Christ Chapel International Churches (CCIC) where he is a member of the Church Council and also serves as the Centre Pastor of the church’s branch in Isolo, Lagos.
